OSRS 1 to 99 Farming Guide

Farming is an OSRS resource skill that you can build up by harvesting various crops and planting seeds. The crops range from herbs to mushrooms, hops, trees, vegetables, and cacti. The harvested products can be used in several ways to enhance levels of other skills. For instance, Herblore uses farming end products to create potions.

Woodcutting also has a nice synergy with Farming. How? Well, the allotments that you farm in are accessible only to you. So, if you grow trees and such, you can cut them down for Woodcutting XP and logs.

The only drawback is that you have to wait for the seeds to grow, which obviously takes time. You could consider training another skill till then. A plus point is that crops continue to grow even if you log out. So, you don’t really have to stick around in the game.

Working your way around Farming?

Before you begin the grind to achieving level 99, you need to grab a proper set of Farming tools. The set consists of a Rake, Spade, Watering Can, Seed Dibber, Gardening Trowel, Plant Pot, and Secateurs. You can purchase them from any Farming Store.

You’ll need to keep four things in mind. The crop you’re planting, the location, the time taken to reach the harvesting point, and how to take care of your crops. You can protect crops from catching a disease by utilizing cure potions on them.

Level 1 to 17

You can start by completing the Fairytale Part 1 quest as it grants 3,500 Farming XP, allowing you to skip the early boring levels. You’ll get straight to level 17 once you completed the quest. There’s no real requirement to begin Fairytale part 1 so start whenever you’re ready.

Alternatively, you can grow crops. We recommend training your Magic to a higher level so that you can use spells to assist you while training. For instance, Cure Plant removed plant diseases, Resurrect Crops revives dead plants, and Geomancy displays the current status of your crops.

Levels 1 to 15

At level 1, you can start planting Potato Seeds for 98 XP per harvest. Similarly, switch to Onion Seeds for 114.5 XP at level 5, followed by Cabbage Seeds at level 7 for 125 XP, and Tomato Seeds for 152.5 XP at level 12.

Tree Runs

Moving forward, you can start planting Trees, which is the most viable means to gain stacks of XP. To begin a run, you need to head to a Tree Path in either Varrock, Falador, Lumbridge, Taverly, or Gnome Stronghold. Once you’re there, pay the farmers depending on the seed you wish to plant.

Level 15 to 30+

At level 15, Oak Trees would be your best option to reach level 30, after which you’ll have the following choices. You can start growing Banana, Apple, Orange, Curry, or Pineapple Trees. You can always consider other fruit trees for better XP; however, the ones mentioned are budgeted appropriately for base players.

Level 57+

The Trees you plant between levels 57 to 80 can vary. You can either stick to Papaya Trees all the way or switch to Palm Trees at Level 68 and continue till you max out. Alternatively, you can plant Magic Trees for better XP rates.

Conclusion

Now that you know your way around Farming and how it can be trained, you can achieve the levels you desire. Then again, how you approach it depends entirely upon you and your budget. Good luck!

If you are tired of repetitive work, I would recommend buying osrs gold or osrs power leveling service to speed up the process.
